Video Job Interviews

CareerPro Services has been published in No-Nonsense Job Interviews.

Video job interviews (also called virtual interviews) have been on the rise in recent years, but with the COVID-19 pandemic, companies are relying heavily on video platforms. Even if you have experience with video conferencing with family and friends, a job interview is different, and you might not get a second chance.

Helping You Ace Your Interview

Here's where CareerPro Services can help. CareerPro Services offers interview coaching via Zoom, Google Meet, or FaceTime to ensure you are delivering the strongest possible interview.

Clients have the option of choosing a 60-minute "Professional Package" or an "Executive Package" which consists of two sessions: a 75-minute initial session (similar to the Professional Package) and a follow-up 45-minute session, geared toward whatever the client wants to discuss. Whatever package a client chooses, the initial session will consist of:

  • Learning important tips on how to ensure your virtual job interview is professional (camera set up, room, lighting, etc.)

  • Discussing strategies before your interview and ways to set yourself apart

  • Helping you think of different examples (stories) that you can use when answering questions; for example "Tell me about a time when ..."

  • Addressing possible concerns (being fired, employment gap, bad performance review, etc.)

  • Discussing concerns about past interviews (what went well, what didn't go well)

  • A practice job interview (geared toward the job description) comprised of both behavioral and general questions

  • Feedback on your interview answers and possible ways to make them stronger

  • A review of various questions YOU should ask the interview, which will help you determine if the job is a good fit

  • Discussing strategies after the interview (salary negotiations, thank yous, if you "forgot" to mention something important, etc.)

  • A handout of everything discussed

  • Acing the Interview, a comprehensive guide to further aid you in preparing for a successful interview

Interview coaching is especially beneficial if you:
  • Have not interviewed in a while
  • You've interviewed but haven't been hired
  • You're changing careers or have been out of work a while and need to explain WHY they should hire you
  • Need to explain a difficult past situation (like a termination) and don't know how to explain this
  • Want to learn how to  negotiate a higher salary
  • Have never interviewed by video
